Welcome to Our New Home! Important Updates for Open Church Kids 🐝 Hub & Hive News

Thank you so much to everyone for your patience, grace, and support during our very first Sunday service in our new building! As we settle in, we’ll be making continuous updates to ensure our space works best for our whole church family.

Here is everything you need to know about Open Church Kids moving forward:

Our Kids Ministry Programs

• 🐝 The Hive (Ages 3–6): A fun, nurturing space for our 3- to 6-year-olds.

• 🏢 The Hub (Grades 1–5): Designed specifically for primary school kids in Grades 1–5.

Sunday Check-In & Drop-Off Procedures

To help us keep all children safe, please follow these steps each Sunday:

1. Check-In Desk: Sign your child in at the Kids Check-In station. Please attach the new color-coded stickers to your child's name tag if applicable (for allergies, photo permissions, court orders, or behavioral needs).

2. Classroom Drop-Off: Escort your child directly to their room. Both rooms are clearly marked with signs.

Please note: Our official duty of care begins once your child is checked in and personally handed over to a Kids Ministry team member. For everyone's safety, please make sure you personally drop off your child.

Parents Room & Watching the Service

• Location: Located on the first floor with lift access available—ideal for parents with young babies and prams.

• Live Stream: We are praying and believing live streaming will be up and running in the Parents Room starting this week! You are also welcome to sit in the Parents Room, use the seating outside, or stand on the balcony to watch the service.

• Pram Parking: Please park prams outside the classrooms to keep walkways clear. If your child is asleep in their pram, feel free to sit with them on the balcony. Need a hand? Our ushers are happy to assist!

Kids & Worship

We are currently testing out different ways to include our kids in Sunday worship. Our heart is to help them build a genuine love for worship and church while feeling excited, welcomed, and supported.

We ask for your continued patience as we try new things over the coming weeks to find the right flow for our new building. Your feedback and encouragement mean the world to us!

Our vision is simple: To make room for one more, creating an environment where our kids feel they belong, can learn about Jesus, and grow alongside the whole church family.

Hi Amazing Haven Parents!

As we head into the school holidays, we want to make sure the kids have a fun and meaningful space to connect and enjoy their time off.

We're excited to announce our holiday program for Kids Church! On Friday nights, we'll be hosting a cozy "Movie, Popcorn & Hot Chocolate" series. A big thank you to our young adults who are stepping up to help facilitate these fun evenings.

Our Friday movie schedule:

5 July: King of Kings

12 July: Prince of Egypt

19 July: David the Movie

26 July: Joseph: King of Dreams

On Sundays, we'll be moving away from our regular lessons to focus on community time, games, board games, and crafts.

We can't wait to see the kids there!

Hey Church! Term 2 is here 🔥

We’re ready for another powerful term of growing deeper, building real friendships, and having a whole lot of fun together. This term is a great mix of high-energy OYC nights and meaningful Open Youth Tables where faith gets real and personal.

⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE – OPEN YOUTH TABLES (OYT)

Every second Wednesday (alongside Open Bible), we meet in smaller groups to go deeper.

These nights are all about honest conversation, real connection, and growing a faith centred on Jesus, not just hype.

Hey Church! It's Term 1 2026! We’re stoked to roll out a jam-packed line-up that’s all about growing deeper, laughing harder, and stepping out together in our faith. This week we will Unite & Ignite on 18th Feb @ The Open Church for a night of Epic-ness!

We are starting a new initiative with the youth on THE OPEN BIBLE weeks, where we’ll be meeting in homes from 6:30pm till 8:15pm at 2 locations:

TERM FOCUS: Spiritual Wellbeing & Character Formation 

These Open Youth Tables will be a place for honest conversation and a space to ask the big questions about life. We desire to see young people grow deeper in their faith that is centred on Jesus, and not on hype.

Epic One-Offs

• Schools Out @ Northshore (04 Mar) – Serious Sport + serious prizes.

• Game On! (18 Mar) – roll up in your comfiest PJs for games, pancakes, and laughs.

Church family, today we celebrate a significant and joyful moment in the life of The Open Church. We are thrilled to officially welcome Paul into the eldership of our community.

Paul has faithfully walked with Christ and served among us with humility, wisdom, and a heart for people. His love for God’s Word, his courage to lead, and his compassion for others have been a consistent encouragement to our church family.

Eldership is not a position of status, but a calling to servant-leadership. It is about shepherding God’s people with grace, truth, and faithfulness. We believe Paul embodies this calling and will continue to help us walk together in Christ, staying rooted in the Word and alive in the Spirit.

Let us uphold Paul and his family in prayer as he steps into this new season of leadership. May he be strengthened with wisdom, anointed with courage, and filled with the Spirit as he serves alongside our eldership team for the glory of God and the building up of His Church.
